Texas so far 2.1

Texas so far…2….

It’s been a long time since I have last written about Texas, so much has happened it’s been incredible. I have a 2nd job, I have met many new faces, and had many ministry opportunities, the Lord has provided abundantly physically and spiritually. It has been such a hard 2 months. But I can never stop PROCLAIMING…That…GOD IS SO GOOD!!!! need I say it again? YES! HE IS SO SO SO GOOD! Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say Rejoice.” I read this again recently and it’s like Paul said that twice so that people wouldn’t miss it. Oh! But how often I have! It’s a command from God to rejoice. Rejoice expresses thankfulness, and directs the glory to the one whom it deserves. God is worthy of my rejoicing and my praise. I love Him, “Many a man proclaims his own steadfast love, but a faithful man who can find?” Proverbs.

My job at Walmart consists of me pretty much being a janitor. They are very strict on their scheduling, so they hate my schedule. Since I work two jobs and work in my church, it stresses them a little bit, so I work extra hard, to be a good example in the midst of it all. I have met many interesting people working there. I love it! I met a man from Kosovo (somewhere in Europe). I met a cool guy named Israel, we talk about the Bible and i got to share the gospel with him the other night, so cool!! But one of the most interesting God-sends of people I have met is this man named Benu. He is from Nepal and he barely knows any English. They just hired Benu as a cart pusher. One day he asked me for a ride home, it was only a 10 minute drive (instead of a 2 hour walk) so of course I said yes. What I didn’t realize was that this man wanted a ride home everyday. Like I said, he spoke bad English. So he still calls me often. I have visited his home, where he never stops giving me food. Even though he is very poor. He has a wife and two little boys, one of which has a hole in his heart. It’s been incredible because every time I come over I have to go into his apartment.. like he makes me. So I am always at his house eating, without fail anytime I walk into his house I am handed food. Apparently it’s a cultural custom and a religious custom to treat your guest with great honor. I was told that many Hindu’s treat guests like a god, so that is kind of weird to think about. Although it is cool because they’ll respect what I have to say and I can point them to the One and Only TRUE God.

I’ve learned that since Benu is a Hindu, he wants me to be one too. Every visit keeps inviting me over to take “tika” a Hindu custom said to protect one from accidents, and to also offer food and body up to idols. But I can’t because I am a Christian. So overtime I have had a strong desire to CLEARLY share the gospel with him. God’s desire being much stronger, Intercedes for this man. I have also often interceded for him. Praying for Benu’s salvation and a way to clearly communicate to him. So this is where it gets so exciting…seriously….read and rejoice! I started praying, that I would find a Nepali bible in a bookstore.. and I couldn’t find one anywhere. So I started thinking about sharing the gospel through a translator around Christmas by sharing the story of Christmas with this guy. And this man at church named Jesse, He goes to southwestern seminary. And I asked him if he could find out if any Nepali students go to his school. After a week he got back to me…here is the exciting part…..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was only one Nepali man. And not just an ordinary Nepali man, but a man who is in his 50’s. Whom when he was in Nepal, went from town to town preaching the gospel (An Evangelist!!!!!), and making disciples(And a Pastor!!!) and not only that he had a Nepali Bible and Hymn book! The hymn book too!!! And a Guitar!!!! Ephesians 3:20,21 is so fit to just break out into praise and proclamation right now!!

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Emphasis added)

Just read that verse aloud and praise God with me! Hallelujah! God is good! I am learning so much. I know I have been going through so much, and sometimes it’s been hard to hear Him through it all. But time and time again. He reveals His grace unto me in day-to-day life. It’s so hard to describe, but please just don’t walk away from this Texas update note thing, and not praise God. He is so worthy of the praise of this testimony.

Continuing with the Nepali Christian man. His name is Bharrat, a God-fearing man, who is a student at southwestern seminary. We went over for a Bible study over a week ago, and it was incredible, I couldn’t understand a single word, but I just admired at the fact that God so used Him and how with God language barrier is a small obstacle. He totally provided that one person at this one appointed time. I am God’s servant from Florida! This guy is from Nepal, there is one Christian at Southwestern from Nepal. Uh can anyone say, ‘divine appointment’. God wants to save the household of Benu! I am so stoked to see how God works, after that first bible study, I learned so much.

      1. that by giving Benu a ride to work I am displaying to him who my God is. That my God is the God of help. So I will continue to help this man as long as I can.
      2. Also I cannot argue someone into salvation..reminded once again..
      3. It takes patience and love
      4. Nepali food is good, (though bones creep in at times
      5. cultural: I don’t have to accept everything given to me on a table for food, they want to conserve and give, so if I waste anything it is offensive, so I limit what I eat.
      6. Nepali Hymns are so beautiful and relevant to Hindi culture.

God is refining me, showing me my Pride, my Discontentment, My lusts, My wandering heart! Lord Take and Seal it! Seal it for thy courts above!! Pray that I would have the humility and grace to humble myself… because sometimes I look around at other people many times  with a judgmental heart and not upward and inward to examine my own self.  That God would be pleased and glorified! By faith and according to His word! Hebrews 1:1-3

Philippians 3:20 “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.”

Colossians 3:16-17 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

1st Corinthians 10:31 “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
